چکیده

R. Senthilkumar & G. Selvakumar Abstract A bacterial member, Bacillus cereus isolated from stored food cereals was found to be capable of producing extacellular lipase. Several factors affecting the activity of lipase were investigated. The maximum lipase activity was achieved at 35 C, pH 8.0 in 72 hour’s incubation. The enzyme activity was enhanced by the addition of 20% of olive oil that was found to be the optimum substrate concentration in the growth medium.

Presenting a rapid method for detection of Bacillus cereus, Listeria monocytogenes and Campylobacter jejuni in food samples

Objective(s): Listeria monocytogens, Bacillus cereus and Campylobacter jejuni are three toxin producing bacteria over the world, especially in Iran, and it is essential to find a certain, rapid procedure to identify these microorganisms. In this research, these bacteria were simultaneously detected by multiplex PCR technique in foods. Materials and Methods: The primary approval of bacterial str...

بررسی اثر باکتری تولید کننده باکتریوسین روی لیستریا منوسایتوژنز و باسیلوس سرئوس

Background and purpose: Dairy products often associated with problems such as short shelf life and poor hygiene control. A novel approach is to utilize bacteriocin or bacteriocin producer strains, to control undesirable micro flora as Listeria monocytogenes and Bacillus cereus in foods. Hence, we studied the effect of nisin like producing Lactococcus lactis against Listeria monocytogenes and ...

Identification of emetic toxin producing Bacillus cereus strains by a novel molecular assay.

Bacillus cereus causes two types of gastrointestinal diseases: emesis and diarrhea. The emetic type of the disease is attributed to the heat-stable depsipeptide cereulide and symptoms resemble Staphylococcus aureus intoxication, but there is no rapid method available to detect B. cereus strains causing this type of disease. In this study, a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) fragment of unknown fu...

A halotolerant thermostable lipase from the marine bacterium Oceanobacillus sp. PUMB02 with an ability to disrupt bacterial biofilms.

A halotolerant thermostable lipase was purified and characterized from the marine bacterium Oceanobacillus sp. PUMB02. This lipase displayed a high degree of stability over a wide range of conditions including pH, salinity, and temperature. It was optimally active at 30 °C and pH 8.0 respectively and was stable at higher temperatures (50-70 °C) and alkaline pH. The molecular mass of the lipase ...

Optimization and Purification of Lipase through Solid State Fermentation by Bacillus Cereus Msu as Isolated from the Gut of a Marine Fish Sardinella Longiceps

A lipase producing bacterium, Bacillus cereus MSU AS was isolated from the gut of a marine fish Sardinella longiceps. In total, seven agricultural waste substrates (coconut oil cake, neem oil cake, onion skin waste, wheat bran, jack fruit waste, banana skin peels and pomegranate skin peel) were selected for solid state production of lipase by B. cereus MSU AS. Among the tested substrates, onion...
